Stewarding – Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort

Position Overview: Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our Stewarding team. The Stewarding department plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the resort’s culinary and food service areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Ensure that all items are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
  2. Kitchen Support: Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as needed. Maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, and refrigerators. Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
  4. Waste Management: Properly dispose of food waste and recyclable materials according to resort policies and environmental regulations. Keep waste disposal areas clean and organized.
  5. Stock Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies and inventory. Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to the Stewarding Supervisor.
  6. Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to all hygiene, health, and safety regulations in the workplace. Follow proper procedures for handling chemicals and cleaning agents.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the Stewarding team and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations, sanitation practices, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior team members.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the operational needs of the resort.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and a willingness to learn and grow in a hospitality environment.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
