Steward Job Description

Location: Atelier House Hospitality, Sindalah, KSA

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Dishwashing and Sanitization:
    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand as needed.
    • Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored.
    • Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of kitchen waste.
  2. Kitchen and Equipment Cleaning:
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment according to sanitation standards.
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in kitchen and dining areas to maintain cleanliness.
    • Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of garbage and recycling materials.
  3. Support Kitchen Operations:
    • Assist kitchen staff in food preparation and assembly as directed by the Chef or Sous Chef.
    • Stock and replenish supplies such as dishwashing detergent, cleaning agents, and kitchen towels.
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  4. Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
    • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
    • Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate protective gear such as gloves and aprons when handling food and cleaning chemicals.
    • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Steward or Dishwasher in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety practices.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
