Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curate and manage the wine selection for Clap Ibiza, ensuring a diverse and high-quality offering that complements the restaurant’s culinary offerings.
  2. Assist guests in selecting wines that best complement their dining experience, offering recommendations based on their preferences, menu choices, and budget.
  3. Maintain an up-to-date and organized wine inventory, including sourcing, purchasing, and storing wines in optimal conditions.
  4. Conduct regular tastings and evaluations of new wines to expand and refine the restaurant’s wine list, staying informed about emerging trends and regions.
  5. Train and educate restaurant staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and proper wine handling procedures.
  6. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine-pairing menus and special tasting events that enhance the overall guest experience.
  7. Ensure proper wine service standards are upheld, including temperature control, decanting, and presentation.
  8. Monitor wine sales and inventory levels, analyzing trends and making recommendations to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with wine suppliers, distributors, and producers to ensure access to exclusive and unique offerings.
  10. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and guest service, fostering a welcoming and memorable dining experience.

Qualifications:

  1. EU passport holder or Spanish resident, as per eligibility criteria.
  2. Certified sommelier or extensive wine knowledge and experience in a similar role.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in wine regions, varietals, vintages, and tasting techniques.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests and staff effectively.
  5. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
  8. Prior experience working in the Balearics or knowledge of Spanish wines is considered a plus.
