- Curate and manage the wine selection for Clap Ibiza, ensuring a diverse and high-quality offering that complements the restaurant’s culinary offerings.
- Assist guests in selecting wines that best complement their dining experience, offering recommendations based on their preferences, menu choices, and budget.
- Maintain an up-to-date and organized wine inventory, including sourcing, purchasing, and storing wines in optimal conditions.
- Conduct regular tastings and evaluations of new wines to expand and refine the restaurant’s wine list, staying informed about emerging trends and regions.
- Train and educate restaurant staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and proper wine handling procedures.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine-pairing menus and special tasting events that enhance the overall guest experience.
- Ensure proper wine service standards are upheld, including temperature control, decanting, and presentation.
- Monitor wine sales and inventory levels, analyzing trends and making recommendations to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
- Build and maintain relationships with wine suppliers, distributors, and producers to ensure access to exclusive and unique offerings.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and guest service, fostering a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
- EU passport holder or Spanish resident, as per eligibility criteria.
- Certified sommelier or extensive wine knowledge and experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated expertise in wine regions, varietals, vintages, and tasting techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests and staff effectively.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Prior experience working in the Balearics or knowledge of Spanish wines is considered a plus.
