Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, in collaboration with project stakeholders and senior management.
  2. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules using appropriate scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6), ensuring alignment with project milestones, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.
  3. Resource Allocation: Coordinate with project teams to allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize project performance and meet project deliverables.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project planning and scheduling, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement proactive measures to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  5. Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against established timelines and milestones, identify deviations from the project plan, and implement corrective actions to ensure project objectives are met.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, fostering positive relationships and facilitating effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Performance Analysis: Conduct regular performance evaluations and variance analyses to assess project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project schedules, progress reports, change orders, and communication logs. Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in project planning and scheduling. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance departmental productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  2. Proven experience as a Planning Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
  3. Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools.
  4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate and address project planning challenges effectively.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  6. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in project planning and scheduling activities.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced construction environment.
  8. Familiarity with construction regulations, industry standards, and best practices in project planning and scheduling.
