Payroll Officer, Metropolitan Group

Job Description: Metropolitan Group is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings, including taxes and benefits.
  • Review timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and benefits.
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll-related tax filings and reports.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.


  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role, preferably in the real estate or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
