Jr. Sous Chef Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Assist the Sous Chef and senior kitchen staff in all aspects of food preparation, including ingredient selection, cooking techniques, and plating presentation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and recipes.
  2. Kitchen Operations: Support the Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, cooking stations, and inventory control, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow and timely delivery of meals.
  3. Menu Execution: Execute menu items according to recipes and specifications under the guidance of the Sous Chef, maintaining consistency and quality in every dish served to meet guest expectations.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen team members to coordinate food production, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment conducive to culinary creativity and excellence.
  5. Quality Control: Assist in maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff.
  6. Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and skill-building activities to enhance culinary knowledge, technique, and proficiency, and to support career growth and advancement within the culinary field.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a culinary role or relevant culinary education from a reputable institution.
  • Strong passion for food and cooking, with a desire to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate and support fellow team members.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in KSA.
