Head Chef Job Description

Head Chef Job Responsibilities:

  1. Menu Development: Create innovative and enticing menus that reflect the culinary vision of the restaurant while considering local and seasonal ingredients, dietary preferences, and guest feedback.
  2. Kitchen Management: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
  3. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, by setting clear expectations, conducting training sessions, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  4. Recipe Standardization: Develop standardized recipes, portion sizes, and cooking methods to maintain consistency and control costs while upholding the highest standards of taste and quality.
  5. Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, food costs, and waste reduction initiatives through effective purchasing, stock rotation, and inventory monitoring practices.
  6. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas, equipment, and storage facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations.
  7. Creativity and Innovation: Stay abreast of culinary trends, techniques, and industry developments to continuously enhance and refine the restaurant’s menu offerings and dining experience.
  8. Guest Satisfaction: Interact with guests to gather feedback, address concerns, and exceed expectations by delivering memorable and exceptional dining experiences.
  9. Budget Management: Work closely with management to develop and manage food budgets, forecast expenses, and optimize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.


  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary school or institution.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of culinary professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques, cuisines, ingredients, and food safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage kitchen operations and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity, passion, and a dedication to excellence in culinary craftsmanship and guest satisfaction.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in KSA.
