Al Ghurair Interiors is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our team. The Document Controller will be responsible for managing and organizing project documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures in the Civil/Interior Fit-Out Industry.

Document Controller Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an organized system for the storage, retrieval, and distribution of project documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, correspondence, and reports.
  • Receive, review, and process incoming documents, ensuring they are accurately labeled, coded, and logged into the document management system.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate the timely exchange of documents and information throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor document workflows, track revisions, and maintain version control to ensure all stakeholders have access to the most current and accurate information.
  • Distribute approved documents to relevant parties and ensure proper documentation of transmittals, acknowledgments, and approvals.
  • Assist in the preparation of document templates, forms, and procedures to standardize documentation processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to verify document integrity, compliance with company standards, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Generate and maintain project logs, including document registers, drawing logs, submittal logs, and RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Provide training and support to project team members on document management procedures, software applications, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications related to document control and record keeping.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in document control within the Civil/Interior Fit-Out Industry.
  • Proficiency in document management software and tools, such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Documentum, or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of document control best practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and industry requirements governing document management and record keeping.
