Position Overview: Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef de Rang/Bar to join our team. The Chef de Rang/Bar will be responsible for delivering exceptional service in our restaurant and bar areas, ensuring memorable dining and drinking experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service Excellence: Provide outstanding service to guests in both the restaurant and bar settings, delivering a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and hospitality at all times.
  2. Table and Bar Management: Oversee assigned tables and bar areas, greeting guests, escorting them to their seats, and presenting menus, providing recommendations, and taking orders accurately and efficiently.
  3. Beverage Service: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, following established recipes and presentation standards to meet guest expectations.
  4. Food Service: Assist with food service activities, including taking orders, delivering dishes to tables, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food items, collaborating closely with kitchen and service teams.
  5. Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of menu offerings, including food and beverage options, ingredients, preparation methods, and special promotions, to answer guest inquiries and make recommendations.
  6. Upselling and Promotion: Promote menu items, specials, and promotions effectively to maximize sales and revenue opportunities, using suggestive selling techniques and product knowledge to enhance the guest experience.
  7. Customer Interaction: Build rapport with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to requests and feedback, resolving any issues or concerns promptly and courteously to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, maintaining cleanliness and organization in all work areas, handling food and beverages safely, and following proper hygiene practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant or bar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, including wine and cocktail service, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities, with the capacity to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the operation.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
