Key Responsibilities:

  2. Quality Inspection: Inspect meat products for freshness, quality, and proper storage conditions, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  3. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of meat products, monitor stock rotation, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh and high-quality meat supplies.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean butcher’s tools, knives, and equipment regularly, ensuring proper functionality and hygiene standards are upheld.
  5. Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen staff and chefs to fulfill meat-related orders and specifications, providing guidance and support as needed to meet culinary requirements.
  6. Compliance: Adhere to all food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and company policies related to meat handling, storage, and preparation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Butcher or similar role in a commercial kitchen or butcher shop.
  • In-depth knowledge of meat cuts, anatomy, and butchery techniques, with the ability to work with various types of meat products.
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in using butcher’s tools and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and precision in meat cutting and portioning.
  • Excellent hygiene and sanitation practices, with a focus on food safety and quality control.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced kitchen setting and adapt to changing demands and priorities.
